“If you make that small gesture just to show that you genuinely care, people make it back. And it’s an ongoing thing that’s not just between you guys, but now they feel better and they’ll show that to somebody else. And we create this community with people who genuinely care about each other.

Del is a young entrepreneur who has created an inclusive retail and community space called Whisky Locker in North Park, San Diego. She got out of the marines and took a leap into this life by wanting to give back to the community somehow. Not only does Whisky Locker serve as a retail space offering raw denim and specialty goods, but there is also a resident barber, Jaime who cuts his clients hair in the space, and pop-up events curated around the community.

In this episode of The Coffee & Convos Podcast, we chat about the serendipitous moments that lead to opening up a shop, the ups and downs in this entrepreneurial journey, and how she’s fostered genuine connections to support the thriving creative community in San Diego.
